Windshield question Empty Bugs!

Post  BA Mon Feb 04, 2008 1:43 pm

I use Crest toothpaste and a tooth brush because I don't use a windshield!!!! -
but Splat! is one that I've seen.
I've always heard that to help prevent bugs from sticking to your windshield, use a polish containing wax.
I would check the windshield manufacturer's recommendations/warnings before applying anything.

I use plain old Rain-X. Seems to work pretty well, even better if you occasionally actually wash the bike.

Windshield question Empty Wash the bike?

Post  jrooth Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:22 pm

Is that a new requirement? I give my bike a bath everytime I am caught in the rain. I have heard that if you wash it regularly the adhesive features of road grime are greatly dimished and things fall off affraid

It's not a requirement, nor should it ever be. Some of us are too busy riding to worry about anything more necessary than gas, tires and oil changes. I do, however, sometimes wash the bike to make Dawn feel better about being seen on it. Don't know if it helps or not.

I use pledge furniture polish. Works well and cheaper than rain-x. It will also clean your windshield pretty good.

I would never have thought about furniture polish.

Learn something new everyday, then you can go home.
